1. Upload you CV onto these top 10 job boards as every recruiter or recruitment agency uses at least one of them: Monster CVLibrary Jobsite Totaljobs Jobserve Fish4jobs Hotonline Careerbuilder Reed and myjobgroup.
2. SET UP THE JOB ALERTS - This is essential to inform you immediately by email when a job in your field of work or location becomes available set up as many as you need for the skills you have, and apply for all vacancies that come along you feel you can do.
3. REFRESH YOU CV EVERY 2 WEEKS - According to independant sources there are 50,000 CV's being updated each week on these sites after a couple of weeks your CV will be nowhere to be seen on the search engines, so updating the CV makes it come back to the top of the pile getting you ahead of the competition.
4. USE GOOGLE TO FIND OTHER JOBS AND PORTALS TO FIND VACANCIES - Type in to google for example "Engineering Jobs in Edinburgh" and all the sites advertising jobs will come up, click through to see who the recruiter is, send them a CV, upload your CV onto the job portal you have found and set up the email alerts.
